Yes!!! The Internet is no longer for a porn hub as Pokemon Go is more popular than pornography, according to Google Trends. Video game industry analyst ZhugeEX made the discovery over the weekend after researching the Google Trends for both Pokemon Go and “porn” for the last seven days.

While the popularity of Pokemon Go caught the games industry completely unexpected, there’s no way any prediction that the game would have become more popular than pornography on the Internet. We wonder what span this trend will continue going as we can’t imagine the game being more popular than pornography for a longer duration.

Pokemon Go mania took over the world by storm, with Niantic Labs’ augmented reality game raising new heights of popularity. And now, Pokemon Go has crossed porn as the most searched term on Google.

Pornography is generally the staple of on-line search and only on some rare occasions, has a search query managed to beat it. This even happened when “Brexit” started to trend, as Independent reported..

For the first time, a smartphone game has managed to top Google search. While Pokemon Go had relatively lower record when it was first launched, the searches related to it soared over this past weekend.

Surprisingly, the most search queries were found to be originating from countries like the Costa Rica, Netherlands, Canada and El Salvador, along with regions like the Australia, US and New Zealand, where the game has been officially released.


Developed by Niantic Labs, Pokemon Go is is taxing the company’s servers.

The game has apparently surpassed dating app Tinder and is closing in on Twitter in terms of daily active users.

According to data compiled by SimilarWeb, Pokemon Go is already installed on 5.16% of all Android devices in the US. This states that it is installed on more Android phones in the US than is Tinder.

The report not only reveals the large install base of the app, but also the raising user engagement. Approximately 60% users who have installed the app in the US are using it on daily basis.
