CRB Tech Reviews came across a news that Harry Potter’s series gonna come to an end. You’ve read that right: Wizarding World mastermind J.K. Rowling has officially announced that Harry Potter’s fantastic universe would come to an end.
This happens after about twenty years, 7 novels, 8 feature films and a full-length play i.e. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child that premiered on London’s West End last Saturday night. Rowling declared in press that Harry would go on a very big journey during these two plays and then, she thinks it’s done.
Rowling then further explained that this new staged telling of the eighth Potter tale is not only the beginning of anything new, but the end of her beloved character.
As the Cursed Child plays open to earn reviews, with a huge sales for the script, the writer declares that this is the end for the former boy wizard who’s now 37.
JK Rowling has announced to her millions of fans that the story of Harry Potter is over.
It was also declared that the Royal National Institute of Blind People has teamed up with the script’s UK publisher, Little, Brown, to release huge print and braille versions of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which is aimed to blind and partially-sighted readers, available. An effort had been taken to release an edition for dyslexic readers by publisher WF Howes Ltd, in collaboration with Little, Brown and the British Dyslexia Association.
The script of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, was written by Jack Thorne, Rowling was also involved in writing the story. The plot clings on time travel and in a way pops the question of how much Harry’s creator was involved? With wizards trying to undo problems in a way that definitely backfires. Though almost all the major characters from the series return in one form or another, they are not that compelling like the two young heroes of the play, Albus Severus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy, the sons of Harry and his former rival Draco.
As Albus and Scorpius struggle with living under the shadows cast by their fathers, Cursed Child also seems to struggle with its legacy, borrowing heavily from older stories while simultaneously challenging the confines of their world.
Well though its a bad news amidst the release of a new Harry Potter series, we can wait finger crossed that Rowling continues to create and continue the legacy of the wizard boy.
