WWE’s SummerSlam returned to the NYC-Metro area with a week-long series of events which included fan experiences and community outreach programs covering all five NYC boroughs.
SummerSlam started , live on WWE Network round the world at 7 p.m. ET from a sold-out Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
WWE is a publicly traded company (NYSE: WWE), an integrated media organization and recognized leader in global entertainment.
The events included:
- New York Yankees Batting Practice –August 16
WWE Superstars Big Show, Mark Henry, Charlotte, Enzo Amore and Big Cass visited Yankee Stadium to interact with players and take part in practicing batting prior to the game vs. the Toronto Blue Jays.
- Children’s Hospital Visits –August 17
WWE Superstars Mark Henry, Dana Brooke and Neville visited children at The Brooklyn Hospital Center. In the start this year, WWE announced a collaboration with V Foundation to expand Connor’s Cure outside of the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation to help other top research centers and hospitals nationwide.
- “Be a STAR” Bullying Prevention Rally –August 18
In the beginning this year, WWE and The Boys & Girls Clubs of America launched a multi-year partnership intending on youth development and bullying prevention efforts.
- Hire Heroes USA Veteran Career Panel & Networking Event –August 19
WWE, in partnership with NBC Universal, hosted a Veterans Career Panel and Networking Event in support of Hire Heroes USA, giving veterans a chance to receive one-on-one career coaching while networking with key employers.
- SummerSlam Reading Celebration–August 19
WWE and First Book donated 2,000 books to Staten Island educators and 500 books to the JCC of Staten Island.
- New York Stock Exchange Closing Bell (NYSE) –August 19
In celebration ofSummerSlam, WWE Intercontinental Champions The Miz and WWE Superstars Big Show and Kane rang the Closing Bell at the New York Stock Exchange.
- Superstar Meet and Greet –August 19 & August 20
Gave fans an opportunity to get autographs from and photos with their favorite Superstars including WWE World Champions.
- SummerSlam –August 21
A sold-out crowd converged on Barclays Center for SummerSlam, is the WWE’s biggest event of the summer, which was seen live on WWE Network at 7 p.m. ET.
- Monday Night Raw –August 22
For the third night in a row, WWE seold out Barclays Center with Monday Night Raw, where fans saw the fall-out from SummerSlam.
