Today is the 84th birth anniversary of every Actor’s Dream Producer . When we think of Yashji, we can see the picture of romance in the exotic locations around the globe with an oozing chemistry between the actors. Apart from producing several blockbuster films, he has directed 22 amazing films over his career span. In these films, Yashji has shown us different shades of love which eventually earned him the title of King Of Romance’.

He is the man who taught us the meaning of romance and unconditional love and his film career spanned over a five decades in the Hindi Film industry.

His absence is a big loss though, today on his 84th birthday we would like to stroll down the memory lane with some of his magic created over the decades.

None ever told a love story quite as brave and bold as Yash Chopra did. Silsila (1981) Lamhe (1991), Chandini (1989), Kabhi Kabhie (1976), Dil Toh Pagal Hai (1997) and Veer Zara (2004) are some of his unforgettable directorial gems.

As a producer, he gave us Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995). Though he was a desperate romantic when it came to films, he was very practical when it came to his lfamily , professional relationships and life.

Bollywood

Among all the films he directed, Yashji’s personal favorite was Lamhe, it was ahead of it’s time and wasn’t a Box office hit. Yash Chopra always had a story unfolding in his mind. To mention Yash Chopra onotially casted Smita Patil and Parveen Babi for Silsila, though his original choice were Jaya Bacchan and Rekha. On Amitabh Bacchan’s suggestion Yashji had words with them and when they finally agreed to the script,Hindi cinema hot its romantic cult classic.

Yash Chopra was born on September 27, 1932 in Lahore(present Pakistan). Yash Chopra came to Mumbai with the blessings of his mother and just Rs 200 in his pocket to cteate an identity in the Hindi film industry. In 1971, Chopra founded the independent Yash Raj Films and his first independent directed movie was ‘Daag: The Poetry of Love’ which was indeed the sucessful hits. And that marked the beginning of everlasting hits.
