Research studies shows that green tea might help maximize the results of your resistance training. Green tea is a great source of epigallocatechin gallate, which improves body’s cellular machinery which is responsible for fat burning by increasing metabolic rate. That’s how the increased calorie burn comes from.

Wanna test Green Tea!

Researchers tested subjects for a wider range of benefits from green tea while mixed with a reduced-calorie diet and resistance training. They wanted to see how this combination leaves an effect on body composition, metabolic rate, performance, and blood triglyceride levels.

The researchers split the study participants into 4 groups:

  • Group 1: green tea only
  • Group 2: placebo
  • Group 3: green tea and resistance training
  • Group 4: resistance training and placebo

For 8weeks, Group 1 consumed 20 grams of green tea per day (10 grams; twice per day), while Group 2 consumed 20 grams of a placebo. Group 3 and Group 4 consumed either green tea or the placebo while also did total-body resistance training a few times per week.

After 8 weeks, Groups 1, 3, and 4 saw overall improvements over Group 2; however, Group 3 performed the best of all. They saw significant decrease in body fat, waist circumference, and triglyceride levels, and a marked increase in daily energy usage, lean body mass, and strength.

How Much Should You Drink?

The amount of EGCG you get from green tea varies from 45-180 mg per bag. In order to get the EGCG you require, drink several cups of green tea each day. Steep the tea for 4 minutes before drinking. Hot water helps in extracting EGCG from the tea itself.

Green tea is also found as an extract that contains about 50 percent EGCG. The extract has a higher concentration of EGCG in comparison to that found in a tea form. You can go by either choice.

We conclude the discussion here.
